The Financial Services Department plans and directs the City's financial activities and provides information to support decisions. The department analyzes financial and operational data, such as performance measures, and makes recommendations on City operations and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability and effective use of City Resources.

The City of Hutto Financial Services Department was awarded the Silver Level Award for Fiscal Transparency by the State of Texas Comptroller. This award exemplifies that Hutto is making great strides to becoming more financially transparent and encouraging the community to participate in the government process.

THE CITY OF HUTTO PROPOSED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 4.140% PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $16.67.

The City of Hutto will hold a public meeting to vote on the Tax Rate on September 3, 2020 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, 500 West Live Oak Street, Hutto Texas 78634.  
     A Tax Rate of $0.613817 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of the City of Hutto.

Financial Transparency

The City of Hutto is committed to transparent government. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens so they can see exactly where their money is going. To achieve this goal, we are providing the following information:

The Financial Services Department coordinates the preparation of the monthly budget to actual, balance sheet, net position, and investment reports to align with the Strategic Plan and Execution Guide applicable to the fiscal year.


Monthly reports are updated each month throughout the fiscal year, starting in May 2017. They can be found by visiting the document center on the Budget page.
